Ryder Cup, November 22, 2011

It was decided to play the second leg of the 2011 Ryder Cup between Fairway

Ramblers Golf Club from Olongopo/Subic and Balibago Social Golf Club from Angeles City in November. due to constraints within both associations it was agreed to play this tournament on Tuesday November 22, 2011 at marina Hills Golf club in conjunction with the regular Tuesday Balibago Competition.

Pairings for each Club were selected independently and groupings were allocated as follows:-

A few changes were necessary to the FRGC team, on Monday afternoon Ross Addy had to pull out and was replaced by John Morrison in team number 4.

On Tuesday morning advice was received that unfortunately Bill Kamalski's vehicle's battery had collapsed and tony Long was turning around at the first opportunity on the SCTEX to return and pick up Walter Smith and Bill Kamalski, and would not be arriving the course until 7:45am. (Finally Walter had a legitimate excuse for his late arrival). This necessitated a change between Bill Kamalski and Tom Wicke. Tom going to number 1 team and Bill back to number 5 team. All flight teed of by 8:10 and competition was under way.

the course was in excellent condition due to to Bill Goodell getting onto the owner and ground staff to prepare the course for the expected big turnout. Greens were mowed and new holes cut on Monday and fairways mowed, bunkers raked.

There were some slight showers of rain during the course of the morning, but this help to keep playing conditions cool rather being a hindrance to the players.
