Every Tuesday Balibago Social Golf Club holds their weekly competition at

Marina Hills Golf and Country Club at Mabalacat, which is about 15 minutes drive away. It is a 9 hole course. Cost is P800 (18 holes) which covers green fees and afterwards we meet at one of four venues to play pool and have a few drinks, (the drinks and pool are covered by the P800). The Club has members who assist with transport to and from the course at no extra cost. Caddie fees are P350 plus tip,

usually P50.

Fontana Resort has recently opened an 36 hole course just off Clark Airbase, but caters mainly for Koreans. Green fees of P4000-P4500 and caddie fees of P500 were quoted when enquiries were made at the Club Office. Golf carts must be used and the

cost of a 2-man cart is P1000.

As a club, we also arrange to play on an 18 hole course every month and have been able to obtain a discount at Lakewoods Golf Club in Nueva Ecija Province, which is about 1 hour 30 minutes drive to the north-east of Angeles City. Cost of green fees

is P1100 and caddie fees are P400. A transportation fee of P300 to P350 applies, depending on numbers.

There is another new course, Beverly Place Golf and Country Club, located behind

SM San Fernando. This course was officially opened on 1 April 2009. Currently it is restricted to a 9 hole layout, (with another 18 holes on the drawing board). A (current

Golf appeals to the idiot in us

and the child.

Just how childlike golf players

become is proven by their

frequent inability to count past

six.

If you are going to throw a club,

it is important to throw it ahead

of you, down the fairway, so

you don't have to waste energy

going back to pick it up.
